The first time I had the opportunity to sit in a stand, and look at all the animals at Eagle Rock I looked at Mitch Slay and said, "This is the Magic Kingdom, and you, my friend, are Walt."  Without a doubt Eagle Rock is the finest managed plantation in North East Georgia, and with the work that Mitch (Walt) is putting into it, I feel lucky to be "Goofy" in Mitch Slays Magic Kingdom.

I wanted to take the time to let you know how much fun my son Dylan and I had at Eagle Rock Plantation.  It was Dylans first trip out side our local woods.  Never was there a dull moment.  When we first got into the woods on Friday afternoon we where absolutely amazed at how many hogs and deer were around us.  We lost count!  The rest of the weekend went pretty much the same.  Either we had a boar in our sites or we was constantly watching deer. Even though Dylan missed a couple of huge boar we still had a awesome hunting trip.  I also want to thank the staff who was so courteous and hospitable. MY WEEKEND HUNT

I would like to share my weekend hunt at Eagle Rock Plantation.  After a quick briefing as to what we could expect on our afternoon hunt we where on our way to the woods.  I'm a large size hunter and was pleased to see a buddy stand waiting for me on my first hunt.  Within the first half hour I saw 6 doe walking across the cut over about 200 yards to my right, and, soon to follow was 2 bucks right on their trail.  Using the same trail as the doe a good looking six point and just inside the tree line was a great 10 pt.buck.  Now this buck was a breath taker even without watching him with my binoculars . When I did get the binoculars I saw the biggest buck in my 25 years of hunting a big body, and out standing rack.  Something most hunters would love to have on their wall.  At this point I need to stop and remind you I was here to hunt hogs not deer.  And, I had to keep telling myself that too. So I kept both hands on the binoculars until both buck where out of sight.  Soon I spotted more  doe in the field and another young six point.  Wow, on the first afternoon I watch 17  doe and 4 bucks.  Little did I know but this would be a typical afternoon for my weekend at Eagle Rock Plantation.  Later that afternoon, after watching many hogs I finally chose a large boar.  The rest of my weekend was just as exciting as my first afternoon.  Saturday morning it was cold but the deer were moving early That morning again I was able to watch 20 doe and 4 bucks from the same stand as the earlier hunt. Saturday afternoon it was time to hunt for my gilt.  And, once again after watching many hogs and deer I was able to take another great hog. If your looking for a hunting experience like you are treated like a member of the family.  The opportunity to see a large number of game. Eagle Rock Plantation is were you need to be.  The guides and staff are as helpful and friendly as anyone I have met.  It goes with out saying I enjoyed my hunt. I had more fun, enjoyed outstanding food and hospitality then I have had in many years. Will I go back to Eagle Rock? Oh yes, without question and I plan to do it really soon.  I hope to see you there.---R. Graham

This past weekend my husband and I visited Eagle Rock Plantation for a 3-day hog hunt. It was a WONDERFUL experience, and I can't wait to go back for a trophy deer hunt soon!   We saw many animals each time we went out into the stand.  We saw so many doe I lost count and, we also saw two 8 pt. buck.  We were just watching the deer and lost count of what we were actually there for....HOG HUNTING!!  We did get us a nice boar and good gilt. The staff and guides made us feel as if we where part of their family, the plantation was breathtaking, and the food was amazing!! We will definitely be back to Eagle Rock again soon and, would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a great hunting experience.

Eagle Rock Plantation is by far one of the most impressive hunting preserves that I have ever experienced.  Impressive in the numbers of quality game, impressive in the lodge accommodations, and meal, and impressive in the professionalism and southern hospitality of the staff.  I have the opportunity to hunt at Eagle Rock on several occasions for wild hogs, deer, and pheasants, and each hunt has been a great time.  I can not say enough of the quality of game...if you are looking to take a BIG hog they are there.  If you are looking for a trophy buck, it is there.  If you are wanting to take a child for their first big game trophy, this is the place.  The owners of Eagle Rock will go out of their way to ensure that you have a great hunting experience. 

I was at Eagle Rock recently with my teenage son on a wild hog hunt.  I witnessed several other dads and kids hunting together.  The highlight of the evening hunt was seeing the face of one eight year old boy telling us about the hog he had taken while hunting with his father.  That was certainly a life impacting moment for that young boy, and a blessing for me as well.  If you are looking for a quality hunt with many of the convinces of home for an affordable rate, then Eagle Rock is the place for you.  I know I will be back...maybe I'll see you there.---  Pastor Jeff Seymour, Athens GA
